Money Shouldn't Feel Mysterious

We started melarionyx in 2019 because we noticed something odd. Most Australians were earning decent wages but still felt anxious about money every month.

The problem wasn't income. It was the confusion around where everything went. And the tools available? They were either too complicated or treated you like a child with pocket money.

So we built something different. A straightforward approach to household budgeting that actually makes sense when life gets messy.

Team collaboration on financial planning strategies

What We Actually Believe

Real Numbers

Your budget should reflect your actual life, not some textbook version of perfection. We work with what's really happening in your accounts.

Flexibility Matters

Some months you'll spend more on groceries. Others, the car will need repairs. That's normal. Your budget should accommodate reality without guilt trips.

No Judgement

Whether you're earning $45,000 or $145,000, budgeting challenges feel the same. We're here to help you understand your patterns, not lecture about coffee.

How We Got Here

2019

The Beginning

Started with three people in Canberra and a simple idea: household budgeting shouldn't require a finance degree. We built our first framework based on conversations with 200 Australian families.

2021

Real Testing

Worked with families through lockdowns and financial uncertainty. Learned that rigid budgeting advice breaks down fast when circumstances shift unexpectedly. Rebuilt our entire approach around adaptability.

2023

Expanding Support

Launched educational programs focused on practical skills. Not theory from textbooks, but actual techniques for tracking spending, planning for irregular expenses, and adjusting when things change.

2025

Where We Are Now

Still based in Acton, now helping households across Australia understand their finances better. We've kept things straightforward on purpose because complicated doesn't mean better.

Who's Behind This

Fletcher Pembroke

Financial Education Lead

Spent years watching people struggle with budgeting frameworks that didn't fit their lives. Now focuses on teaching practical money management that actually works when you're juggling bills, kids, and unexpected expenses.

Before melarionyx, Fletcher worked in financial counselling and saw firsthand what happens when budgeting advice ignores real-world complexity.

Program Development

Designs our educational content with one rule: if it can't be explained to someone tired at the end of a workday, it's too complicated. Believes strongly that financial literacy shouldn't require evening courses.

Background in adult education taught Stellan that people learn better from examples than lectures, which is why our programs focus heavily on practical scenarios.

How We Actually Work

Detailed financial planning workspace

Start With Your Reality

We begin by looking at what's actually happening in your finances right now. Not what should be happening according to some formula. Three months of transaction history tells us more than any calculator.

Build Flexible Systems

Your budget needs to handle irregular income, seasonal expenses, and those things you forgot about until they appear on your statement. We help you create frameworks that bend without breaking.

Teach Practical Skills

Our educational programs run from September 2025 through early 2026. You'll learn actual techniques for managing variable expenses, building buffers, and adjusting when circumstances shift. No motivational speeches, just useful methods.

Ongoing Support

Financial situations change. New jobs, different costs, unexpected events. We're available at Building 137, Sullivans Creek Rd in Acton, or reach us at +61892761199. Real people, not chatbots.
